NationsHeritage Federal Credit Union offers its members a variety of savings products. Many of these accounts offer the same competitive rates that are available from other financial institutions.

To become a member, you must open a Share Account, with a minimum deposit of $5.00. Membership allows you access to all Credit Union services. Dividends on regular share accounts and club accounts are calculated on the daily balances and are paid monthly. The minimum balance to earn the annual percentage yield is $50.00 for share and club accounts.

Share Accounts:

This is a typical savings account. This is ideal for members who want to earn a dividend, but need access to their funds. In order to earn dividends (interest) you must have a minimum balance of $50.00.

Youth Share Accounts:

This is a typical savings account for members under age 18. You are never too young to learn about money – especially how to save it. Account is opened in child’s name with parent or guardian as custodian or joint owner. In order to earn dividends (interest) you must have a minimum balance of $5.00.

Club Accounts:

This can be a Holiday, All Purpose, or Vacation Club. For this account you can make weekly, bi-weekly or monthly contributions to save up for that well deserved vacation, special occasion or next year’s holiday purchases. You can either come into the Credit Union and make your deposits or have them automatically transferred from another account. There is a minimum balance requirement of $50.00 to earn dividends. Vacation Club accounts are paid out mid-May, and Holiday Club accounts are paid out mid-October.

Money Market Accounts:

A Money Market account can be described as an enhanced savings or checking account. It is for the member that wants to earn a higher dividend rate on their money. Another benefit of a money market account is that you don't have to leave your deposit in for a required amount of time as you would a certificate. There are 2 types of Money Markets to choose from, one is a savings Money Market the other a checking account Money Market.

All our Money Markets have a $2500.00 minimum balance requirement. The dividend rates are tiered and are determined according to the balance. There are certain withdrawal limitations on a Money Market account that is imposed by the Federal Reserve. These withdrawal limitations will be reviewed upon account opening.

Our checking Money Market account is for a member that wants the convenience of a checking account but doesn't write a lot of checks. You can make a total of six transfers/withdrawals a month, however, only three of those transactions can be made by draft or check.
Our Member Service Representatives will review all guidelines for these accounts during account opening.

Term Share Certificates

We offer Term Share Certificates or IRA Certificates. Both certificates can be established with a minimum investment of $1,000.00. Certificates offer you a guaranteed and usually higher dividend rate for a specific amount of time. Certificates can be invested for terms as short as 91 days or as long as three years.

IRA Certificates are a great way to save for retirement. We have several types of IRA’s to choose from: Traditional and Roth IRA’s are our most popular IRA’s.

The minimum balance to earn dividends is $1,000.00 for Certificates and IRA’s. There may be a penalty imposed for early withdrawal on all certificates and IRA’s. Rates are subject to change without notice.
